The Copley boys track & field team opened the season at the 14-team Fitch Early Bird Invitational at Austintown Fitch High School. Four Copley individuals came away as individual placers. Seniors Tim Christian and Darryl Pringle set new personal bests in the 100 meter dash in the process. Christian ran an 11.25 to place 4th and Pringle ran 11.68 to finish 8th. Dylan Wood opened his freshman season with a 2nd place finish in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:02.11. Senior Parker Ohlin set a new personal best mark in pole vault with a height of 13’00” which puts him tied for 8th all-time in Copley High School history. All four relays for Copley placed. Aaron Clayton (Sr.) and Preston Taylor (Jr.) joined Christian and Pringle in the 4×100 meter relay placing 4th with a time of 44.66. The quartet of Thomas Sekas (Sr.), Cory Arp (Jr.), Jay Stanford (Fr.), and Noah Edingburgh (Fr.) took 5th in the 4×200 meter relay with a time of 1:36.10. Arp and Sekas joined Ben Dobo (Jr.) and Sam Savage (Sr.) in the 4×400 meter relay to take 4th with a time of 3:41.16. Jack McCoy (So.) and Riley Webb (Sr.) joined Savage and Wood in the 4×800 meter relay to finish 5th with a time of 8:40.18. Copley opens up Suburban League competition at home on Wednesday, March 31, against Roosevelt.
