Boys Varsity Track · Christian and Savage lead Copley Track & Field with First Place Finishes at Tiger Invitational

Copley Track & Field traveled to Newton Falls High School to compete in the 17-team field. Senior Sam Savage came away with the win in the 800 meter run setting a new meet record with a time of 2:03.75. Senior Tim Christian sets a new personal record in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.10, which was fast enough for Christian to come away with the victory. Joining Christian on the winning 4×200 meter relay was Darryl Pringle (Sr.), Cory Arp (Jr.), Preston Taylor (Jr.). The four teammate finished with a season best time of 1:32.94. The 4×100 meter relay team of Pringle, Aaron Clayton (Sr.), Taylor, and Christian took 2nd with a season best time of 44.61. In addition to the 4×200 meter relay Arp had two strong individual performances finishing 7th in the 400 meter run with a time of 54.76 and 3rd in the 200 meter run with a time of 24.74. Arp was also joined by Zach Estephan (Jr.), Ben Dobo (Jr.), and Savage to finish 3rd in the 4×400 meter with a time of 3:42.35. Freshman Dylan Wood and Senior Riley Webb both set new personal records in the 1600 meter run with times of 4:45.39 and 4:46.66, which placed them 3rd and 5th, respectively. Senior Parker Ohlin placed 5th in the 110 meter hurdles with a team of 17.29. Sophomore Jack McCoy ran a personal record in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:55.63. McCoy joined Karl Brozeit (So.), JP Villarreal (Fr.), and Isaac Pittman (Jr.) in the 4×800 meter relay to run a time of 9:38.30, which placed 8th. Estephan ran a great race in the 300 meter hurdles which helped him place 8th running a time of 47.12. Round out the scoring for Copley was Senior Arian Khatibi in the long jump. Khatibi placed 8th with a jump of 17’11.75″.

Copley will travel to Medina High School on Saturday, April 10 to compete in the highly competitive Medina Relays.
