Copley Boys Track & Field opened up the Suburban League Dual meet schedule with a win over Roosevelt. Leading the way for Copley was, Senior Parker Ohlin took three 1st place finishes in the Pole Vault (11’00”), 110 Meter Hurdles (16.92), and the 300 Meter Hurdles (45.31). The 4×800 relay team of Jack McCoy (So.), Matthew Luecke (Fr.), Isaac Pittman (Jr.), and JP Villarreal (Fr.) took first with a time of 10:09. Also, scoring in the 110 meter hurdles with Ohlin was Levi Yoder (Sr.) with a time of 19.45, which placed him 2nd and finishing 3rd was Zach Estephan (Jr.) with a time of 19.48. The trio of Tim Christian (Sr.), Aaron Clayton (Sr.) and Cory Arp (Jr.) swept the 100 meter dash with times of 11.58, 11.86, and 12.07, respectively. Christian was joined by Darryl Pringle (Sr.), Thomas Sekas (Sr.) and Preston Taylor (Jr.) in the 4×200 meter relay finishing 1st with a time of 1:34.01. Freshman Dylan Wood and Senior Riley Webb took 1st and 2nd in the 1600 meter run with times of 4:49 and 4:53. The 4×100 meter relay time of Pringle, Clayton, Taylor, and Christian finished 1st with a time of 45.10. Sekas and Ben Dobo took 1st and 2nd in the 400 meter dash with times of 54.83 and 56.48, respectively. Copley swept the 800 meter run. Sam Savage took 1st followed by Matthew Luecke and Jack McCoy with times of 2:03, 2:17, and 2:18. The trio of Sekas, Arp, and Clayton took 1-2-3 in the 200 meter dash with times of 23.64, 23.95, and 24.25. Wood and Webb took 1st and 2nd again in the 3200 meter run with times of 10:32 and 10:40. Copley finished off the night in running events with a win in the 4×400 meter relay. The team of Savage, Arp, Dobo, and Sekas ran a time of 3:53.63.
In the field events Copley competed strong. Arian Khatibi took 1st in the long jump with a jump of 19’2″ while Pringle took 2nd with a jump of 18’7.5″. The high jump was swept by Clayton who took 1st with a jump of 5’10”, Luke Brenner (So.) took 2nd with a jump of 5’6″ and Khatibi finished 3rd with a jump of 5’2″. Landon Robinson (Sr.) and Dorian Pringle (Fr.) took 1st and 3rd in the shot put with throws of 42’5″ and 36’6.5″. In the discus Robinson finished 2nd with a distance of 120’2″. Khatibi also finished 2nd in the pole vault with a vault of 10’0″.
Copley will travel to Newton Falls High School on Saturday to compete in the Tiger Invitational
