|This week the Governor’s office announced that Sport Specific Skill Training in conjunction with the opening of school facilities will be permitted to restart in Ohio on May 26th. The health and safety of our students, staff and community is our top priority, therefore our administration has made the decision that we will not open our facilities for student, staff or community use next week.
The Copley-Fairlawn City Schools administrative team is reviewing the guidance that has been released by the State of Ohio, the Ohio High School Athletic Association and the National Federation of High Schools. Additionally we are coordinating with the Summit County Health Department for a review of all of our plans and protocols. Any reopening of our facilities will be limited to no more than 10 people at a time and will follow all current social distancing guidelines.
As we review the guidance that has been provided and we can confidently provide our coaches and other support staff with all the protocols that need to be in place for a responsible re-opening, we will begin to gradually open our district facilities. This will likely begin on Monday June 1.
