On Monday April 20th, the Copley-Fairlawn City Schools participated in the national initiative, “Light Up The Night.” Our stadium lights were turned on at 8:20pm (20:20 military time) and the lights burned for 20 minutes. This symbolic gesture showed support for our Class of 2020 in addition to doctors, nurses, first responders and essential workers.
We share in the incredible disappointment our senior class is feeling that their final year of high school has been cut short in the classroom and on the playing field. There are certainly bigger things in life than athletics, but that does not diminish the pain and disappointment this group is feeling right now. Our heart goes out to everyone currently dealing with these unfair circumstances. We are optimistic and hopeful that our stadiums will be full once again next school year. Until then stay safe and healthy! (photo credit: Coach Tony Davis)
